During an assessment under our new approach
Date of Inspection: 1 – 14 April 2026. Nettlebed Surgery is a GP practice and delivers services to approximately 3900 patients under a contract held with NHS England. The practice has a low indication of deprivation compared to the national average and the majority of patients identify as white British. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 10th decile (out of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This inspection considered the demographics of the people using the service and this impacted on the context the service was working within and how this affected service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.
This was a comprehensive inspection of Nettlebed Surgery to provide an updated rating for the location. The service has not received a comprehensive inspection since 2016 when it was rated good. At this inspection, we assessed 33 quality statements across all 5 key questions: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. Due to the findings from the inspection, we have identified breaches of regulation. We have issued an enforcement notice against the provider instructing them to improve.
