Diagnostic and screening services

Updated 22 July 2026

We inspected this service using our comprehensive inspection methodology. We carried out a short, announced inspection on 5 August 2026. We gave Bloom Ultrasound Ltd notice to ensure the service was open. We assessed all quality statements from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions.

Bloom Ultrasound Ltd provides diagnostic imaging services from a facility with 1 scanning room, 1 consulting room and a reception area. The service had a registered manager in post since initial registration and was registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide the regulated activity diagnostic and screening procedures. There were 2 company directors. One director held the role of registered manager. We spoke with both directors, both are HCPC registered sonographers. We reviewed a range of policies, procedures and audits alongside staff recruitment files, competency and training records.

The service had enough staff to keep people safe. However, we found some issues with the recruitment files. Overall, good day to day safety standards were maintained. Care and treatment were effective, and people were treated with compassion and respect. Staff consistently maintained privacy and dignity and actively encouraged feedback. There were some issues around consistency with the age of women they would scan across the policies, this was promptly rectified.
