During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 2 July 2026.

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

There was ineffective leadership and systems were not in place for continuous improvement.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation, but these were not followed. Appropriate checks and risk assessments were not in place for agency staff and young persons.

Systems were not in place to ensure staff completed training and updates appropriate to their roles.

The practice did not have effective systems to identify and manage risks in relation to sedation, sharps safety, hazardous substances, Legionella and night workers.

Staff did not manage prescription medicines in line with current guidance.

Improvements should be made to the systems to oversee infection prevention and control and medical emergency arrangements.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Armley, Leeds and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and an onsite car park, including dedicated parking for disabled people.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 11 staff, of which there were 7 dentists, 2 trainee dental nurses, 1 receptionist and a practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, the receptionist and the practice manager.

The provider was not complying with Regulation 17 Good Governance. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
