Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 17 August 2026.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
We saw ineffective leadership without a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice did not have systems in place to identify and manage all risks.
Staff mostly had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Staff treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice is in Dereham in Norfolk and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
Norwich Street Dental Surgery was on the first floor and there was a flight of steps to access the practice. It was therefore not accessible to wheelchair users or patients with limited mobility. Car parking spaces were available near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms; only 1 was in use by the practice as the other room was used by a beautician. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 2 staff, of which there was 1 dentist and 1 dental nurse who also worked on reception. We gathered feedback from and spoke to both staff members during our inspection.
The provider was not complying with Regulation 12, Safe care and treatment and Regulation 17 Good governance. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.

People's experience of this service
The practice had carried out a patient survey which showed that patients were happy with the care and treatment provided.
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients said they were given information to help them make choices about their treatment and any associated costs.
