During an assessment under our new approach
We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 11 June 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Hall Street Dental Care on 27 January 2026. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of Regulation 15 Premises and equipment and Regulation 17 Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection on 11 June 2026, we found the practice had met all regulations.
The practice had improved the systems to identify and manage risks. In particular, the risks associated with sharps safety, stock control, premises and equipment, lone working, fire safety and medical emergencies. The provider should ensure remaining recommendations from the fire risk assessment are acted upon in a timely manner.
Improvements had been made to the provision of staff mandatory training. The practice should ensure oversight of staff mandatory training is maintained.
Clinical notes were now recorded in line with recognised guidance.
Hall Street Dental Care is in St Helens and provides private dental care and treatment for adults.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 4 staff, of which there were 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse (who was also the practice manager), 1 receptionist and the cleaner.
