During a routine inspection
All of the patients we spoke with were very happy with the dental treatment they received. One patient told us 'he [the dentist] is very good because he doesn't push you to have things done for cosmetic reasons' and 'they're very efficient, professional and it's [the treatment] a high standard'. Another patient said 'the atmosphere here is so peaceful, everyone is very friendly'. We looked at patient records which confirmed the treatment patients said they had received.
A patient we spoke with said 'the surgery is beautiful, it's always clean'. The practice operated processes, and followed procedures, that minimised the risk and spread of infection because current guidelines were followed.
Staff told us they were supported to carry out their roles. We saw that staff received training specific to their job and that they received an annual review of their performance. The self-employed hygienist said 'I had an induction here, which I've never had before [in other practices they worked at]'.
The practice had systems in place to seek and act on patient feedback and carried out audits to monitor the quality of clinical work and records.
