All Inspections

23 December 2013

During a routine inspection

As part of our inspection we spoke with the manager and two members of staff. We spoke with one person who used the service and two carers by telephone. We also looked at records.

When we looked at the daily records we found they accurately reflected the care people required.

We found the service was well led and staff received appropriate training to support them to effectively provide care to people.

One person told us they had not been happy with the service because they had different staff providing care. However they said this had recently settled and they hoped it would continue.

A relative told us when the staff had experienced difficulties providing care for their relative they had requested additional support so they could meet the person's needs.

Overall we observed people were supported by skilled and experienced staff who understood their roles and responsibilities in order to provider safe care to people.

During our visit we looked at care plans and found they were person centred and had information about people's likes and dislikes.

People told us they had been involved in planning and reviewing their care and would be happy to contact the provider if they had concerns.

We observed the service was responsive to people's needs and processes were in place to ensure people received care to meet their needs.

The provider had a statement of purpose in place which was available to people and reflected the service provision.

10 July 2012

During a routine inspection

As part of our inspection we spoke by telephone with a number of people who used the service.

A person said, 'I am more than satisfied with Ace they are a great team.'They also told us,'The carers are lovely.'

One person told us their visit was getting a lot later than their allotted time, which meant it was difficult for them to go out on time. They also said at weekends they often don't know what time the carers are coming.
