Date of assessment: 2 October to 7 October 2026. Ruby House is a residential care home providing accommodation for up to 5 people. It supports people living with dementia and mental health conditions. At the time of our assessment there were 2 people living at the service who were receiving support with personal care.
People were supported by a consistent and skilled staff team, who knew them well. We observed kind and caring interactions and there was a genuine focus on meaningful relationships. Recruitment was managed safely and staff received inductions, supervision and training. People’s needs were assessed prior to admission to the service. Processes were in place to ensure people’s care and support was monitored. Documentation in relation to medicines needed to be improved due to the lack of information documented by the staff team, specifically for when people refused medication.
Care plans highlighted people’s diverse needs and preferences. The management team and staff showed a strong commitment to person-centred support, care and improving outcomes and opportunities for people.
The provider had a clear shared vision and strategy, and the home was well supported by the registered manager and wider quality team. There was a robust programme of audits and checks, and any concerns were addressed promptly. Leaders engaged positively with the assessment and acted promptly on the feedback received.
