Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.

The service had arrangements to promote people’s privacy. The service performed in line with the national average in the results of the 2026 National GP Patient Survey. For example, 86% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at treating them with care and concern, compared to a national average of 86%. The practice also completed their own internal patient survey which showed that 84% of patients described their experience of the GP practice as either ‘very good’ or ‘fairly good’.

Confidentiality was supported through staff training, secure information systems and private areas for conversations. Consultation rooms were kept closed and reception arrangements helped maintain patient privacy.

Bereaved families were offered additional support, including signposting to bereavement services. Staff told us sympathy cards were routinely sent following a patient's death.
