AR Priority Healthcare Head Office is a mobile doctors service. They provide GP consultations to patients, predominantly in residential care and nursing homes, but also provide home visits to patients on request.
They assessed, planned and delivered care in partnership with the care homes they work with. The provider consists of 2 GPs and no other staff. The service covered Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire areas at the time of this inspection.
During this inspection we found the provider was assessing and delivering care safely and appropriately in most cases. There were systems to keep people protected from harm and abuse. There was a positive culture regarding openness and responding to external feedback. The provider engages with patients effectively in the planning and assessing of their service. The provider did not always monitor the delivery of their services with the use of internal audit or risk assessment. We identified some risks associated with pre-assessment of patients to ensure their identify and concerns in managing non-clinical elements of the service. We have identified a breach of regulation relating to good governance and we have asked for an action plan from the provider, asking them to inform us what improvements they intend to make as a result of our findings.
