Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 23 April to 15 May 2025. We completed site visits on 23 April and 2 May 2025. St Michaels Court is a nursing home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. The service is registered for 88 people and provides support to older and younger people, some of whom may be living with dementia, a physical disability or sensory impairment. At the time of the assessment, there were 75 people living at the service. The service was last inspected in March 2022 and rated requires improvement. We identified breaches of regulations relating to safe care and treatment, meeting nutritional and hydration needs, staffing and good governance. We carried out this assessment due to concerns of risks, we found that the provider has made improvements in these areas. The provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
People's experience of this service
People had a positive experience of living at the service, and they told us they felt safe. An expert by experience spoke with people and their relatives. One relative said “There is an aura about the place that makes you feel safe. I know they check on him regularly and even when I am here visiting, they still come in and check that all is okay.” Staff knew people well and people were treated with kindness and compassion. One person said, “I feel safe, they (staff) will come and check on me quite often.”
