We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 1 September 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Redcar Family Dental Centre on 15 April 2026. We had found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of Regulation 17 Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection we re-inspected the well-led key question only and found the practice had now met Regulation 17.
There were improved systems to assess, monitor and mitigate risks, particularly Legionella, fire safety, and infection prevention and control.
There were improved systems and processes for monitoring medical emergency equipment and medicines, and staff medical emergency training.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice is in Redcar and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms.During the inspection we spoke with 2 dentists, 1 dental nurse and 1 receptionist.
