During a routine inspection
We talked with the manager who was on duty and the director about the service and how it was operated. We shared with them that under the revision of registration requirements first aid services being provided to cover sporting events, concerts and fayres no longer need to be registered with the Care Quality Commission. However the director had found that the tenders they bid for required providers to be registered with us and without this registration Medics UK could not continue to operate.
We reviewed the records the service kept in respect of the care being provided; staff and equipment and found all was well-maintained. The manager had ensured that vehicles were maintained in line with guidance associated with the operation of ambulances and all staff followed appropriate cleaning schedules. She also made sure that the vehicles were stocked with all the equipment their paramedics would need.
