Updated 7 August 2026
We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 3 September 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced, on-site inspection of Este Dent Limited on 25 July 2026. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe, effective, or well-led care and was in breach of Regulation 17 Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection, we found that although improvements had been made, there were ongoing concerns relating to the oversight and governance of the service, the practice had not met regulations.
The practice had begun to implement effective systems to identify and manage risks. However, improvements were still required to the oversight of fire safety, Legionella and receiving and acting on safety alerts.
Improvements were required to governance, particularly ensuring policies were up-to-date.
The provider had begun to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
Improvements had been made to recruitment procedures which reflected current legislation.
Due to the focused nature of the on-site visit, we did not gather sufficient evidence to report on the key questions of Caring and Responsive.
Este Dent is in the London Borough of Ealing and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice is located inside Hillview Surgery which is a General Practice (GP).
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 1 treatment room for dental care, and a second room where aesthetics was carried out. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 4 staff, of which there were 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 1 dental hygienist and 1 receptionist. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal dentist, 1 dental nurse and the receptionist.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
The provider was not complying with Regulation 17 Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
