Updated 3 February 2026
Date of Assessment: 11 February to 5 March 2026. We carried out a site visit to the home on 11 February 2026, with the remainder of the assessment being conducted offsite. The service is a care home with nursing and can accommodate up to 29 people. At the time of our assessment 22 people were living at the home. Our overall rating is good. We undertook this assessment due to the aged rating of the service. We carried out a comprehensive assessment and assessed all 34 quality statements from all the key questions - safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
People were kept safe from the risk of harm and abuse. Staff were knowledgeable about safeguarding and reported concerns promptly. Peoples’ care records were personalised and care was regularly assessed using best practice assessment tools, to help ensure support was relevant and current. Staff worked collaboratively with external professionals. Where people required referrals to health care professionals, this was completed in a timely way.
Staff had developed close relationships with the people they supported and understood their needs well. Staff supported people in a kind and dignified way. People had access to nutritious home cooked food and mealtimes were unrushed and relaxed, providing people with an opportunity to socialise.
The registered manager operated an open-door policy and was highly visible within the home. Feedback from people and relatives was encouraged and any concerns were taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Governance systems required strengthening in some areas, however, the registered manager acted with timeliness on our feedback, demonstrating their commitment to further enhance the high standards of care and support.
