We carried out this inspection to follow-up on a compliance action that had been issued following our last inspection. Our inspection of 27 September 2013 found that people were not cared for by staff that were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. This was because staff did not receive appropriate training and were not supervised appropriately.

The provider wrote to us and told us they had taken steps to ensure staff were appropriately trained and supervised. Our inspection on 26 June 2014 found that the provider had adequate processes in place to support and supervise staff.

People told us that they were happy with the services provided and said "the dentist explains the treatment options", "staff are welcoming", "it's always clean here" and "the treatment has been as described and agreed". People said their privacy was maintained. People we spoke with had not made a complaint but said they would speak with the dentist about any concerns or issues.

Two new members of staff had been employed who were completing their induction to the practice. Some other staff had not had opportunities to attend training and staff meetings had not taken place during the last few months.

Staff said the design and layout of the practice was good, making it welcoming and comfortable for patients and easy for them to keep clean and hygienic.

We saw the treatments rooms, decontamination room and reception area were clean and tidy. Reception staff welcomed people to the surgery. Systems were in place for the dentist to monitor the quality of services provided.
