During a routine inspection

Due to the nature of the service we did not have the opportunity to speak with people who had used the service. We therefore spoke with staff at the clinic and looked at documents and records relating to people who had received treatment or had sought information about treatments.

People considering using the service were provided with detailed information about their treatment options and costs before having to make any decision about their treatment.

Following treatment patients were asked to complete a questionnaire about the service they had received. We looked at a number of these that had been completed during 2013.

People were extremely complimentary of both the treatment they had received and the conduct and professionalism of the provider and staff at the clinic and we noted such comments as:

'Excellent from consultation to procedure'; 'Very professional with every stage fully explained, putting me at ease throughout' and 'Thank you so much for all your care and support'.

We looked at all areas of the clinic including the treatment room. This area was extremely clean and hygienic and we saw that staff had appropriate facilities for washing their hands prior to assisting with treatments.

We therefore spoke with the provider who is also the surgeon who carried out the treatments and looked at documents and records relating to people who had received treatment or had sought information about treatments.

People considering using the service were provided with detailed information about their treatment options and costs before having to make any decision about their treatment.

Following treatment patients were asked to complete a questionnaire about the service they had received. We looked at a number of these that had been completed during 2012. Without exception, all comments made by people who had experience of using the service were extremely complimentary of both the treatment they had received and the conduct and professionalism of the provider and staff at the clinic.

We looked at all areas of the clinic including the treatment room. This area was extremely clean and hygienic and we saw that staff had appropriate facilities for washing their hands prior to assisting with treatments.

The provider maintained his professional development and training to ensure the service he provided was in line with current approved good practice guidelines.

Within the completed patient questionnaires, we noted that people stated they would feel comfortable and confident to raise any concerns they may have with the provider of the service.
