We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 12 May 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The Dental Practice (also known as Longview Drive Dental Practice) is in Huyton, Liverpool and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access via a portable ramp to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 11 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 1 dental therapists, 2 qualified dental nurses, 3 trainee dental nurses, 2 receptionists and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental therapist, 2 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.

Prior to our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 12 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

“…I have a great relationship with reception staff, hygienist and dentist herself. Very helpful, kind and friendly every time I visit. I would not consider going anywhere else now.”

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. “The team have been great ever since my first appointment. Keeping professional and friendly at all times. Made me feel welcomed and valued as a customer. Cleanliness have always been top notch, even in busy periods. I have and would recommend to friends and family.”
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. “…Making an appointment is a doddle, just ring up and its sorted. Can’t thank all the staff enough for saving my teeth…”
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “The service is great, flexible when needed. I have full trust in the care provided for both teeth and gums by dentist and hygienist, engaging in the decisions made. I would fully recommend the service to family and friends.”
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
