Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 26 November 2025.

Manchester Menopause Hive (MMH) is an independent doctor's practice specialising in supporting and treating menopause, perimenopause and pre-menstrual syndrome symptoms. This was the first inspection of this service since registration on 6 May 2025.

The service is a private fee-charging GP consultation service.

Care and treatment provided is doctor-led. Only people over 18 years old can access this service.

The registered manager who was also the lead GP supervised the administration staff and other GP’s working at the service. All GP’s working at the practice were registered members of the British Menopause Society.

All consultations were completed by a qualified GP.

Manchester Menopause Hive had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. The leaders investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks.

There were enough staff with the right skills and experience to complete all tasks required to keep people safe.

The registered manager who was also the lead GP ensured all staff received regular appraisals and training.

Leaders listened and used information from people to make changes.

The service was exceptional and proactive in reaching out and providing advice, guidance and education to communities who experience health inequalities.

In the main the facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were in good supply and were clean. However, there were potential hazards for people with reduced mobility and sensory impairment.

Medicines were well-managed.

People's experience of this service

We received feedback about care and treatment from four people who used the service. All described positive experiences.

People provided positive feedback about their experience of using Manchester Menopause Hive. People described the experience as ‘life-changing’ and ‘lifesaving’.

People stated they felt comfortable with the staff and those who identified as regular customers said they were happy to recommend the service to others. People said they felt listened to.

People explained that information about next steps was easy to understand and reassuring. People also said the doctors were knowledgeable and kind.

Leaders provided evidence of feedback they had collected. This feedback was predominantly positive in all areas concerning aptitude and attitude of staff.

We saw that action was taken in response to feedback, ensuring improvements were made if necessary. This included increasing the number of face-to-face consultations.
