During a routine inspection

As part of this review we contacted people by telephone to discuss the service they received from the agency. People we spoke with were positive about the care and support they received. They told us they were able to be as independent as possible and that their privacy and dignity was respected. Comments included 'They don't take over, they let me be as independent as possible' and 'I have a care plan which exactly describes the care I need and they write in it every day'.

People using the service told us they felt safe and felt comfortable to raise any complaints. Comments included 'I feel able to express my needs and feelings to staff', 'We have been told about the complaints procedures and have information about how to complain', and 'The management come and see if I am happy, they are marvellous I cannot fault them in anyway'.

They told us that they liked the staff who visit them and that the service was well organised. Comments included 'They are marvellous', 'They come on time now we are in a regular routine', 'They always stay the correct length of time' and 'I get a rota every week telling me who is coming, it's very efficient'.

They confirmed that the provider contacts them to see if they are satisfied with the service. Comments included 'They are wonderful to me' and 'They come and see if I am happy with the care'

Where people were unable to speak to us over the telephone we spoke to their relatives. They told us they were satisfied with the care and support provided by the agency. They told us 'They are fantastic with my relative, they protect their privacy and dignity and respect that they like to be very independent', 'We asked for more mature carers before we started the service and these have been provided', 'The office staff come and do spot checks to see if we are happy with the service', 'The manager came and did an assessment and they provided a care plan, we are delighted with the service' and 'I am very satisfied, they seem to know what they are doing'.

They also told us 'They send time sheets every week so we know who is coming', 'They are marvellous regarding time keeping, very punctual', 'There is a very good calibre of staff employed by the agency', 'Confidentiality is marvellous with this agency, they never discuss anything about other people who use the service', 'They are coming to review the service but I have already contacted them to tell them how delighted I am with the service' and 'I would give them an A star'.
