Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 8 September 2025

We conducted this inspection from 9 September 2025 to 1 October 2025. The service is a residential care home providing support to people with a mental health condition. There were 3 people in receipt of a regulated activity living in the home at the time of our inspection. We inspected the service in response to receiving information of concern. This was the first inspection of this newly registered service. We assessed 33 quality statements.

At the time of our inspection the service had been operational for 5 months The provider had some internal monitoring systems in place. Some time was needed for their newly introduced quality assurance systems to embed in practice. This would ensure all shortfalls for example in relation to accident review and notification would always be identified and acted on promptly.

The provider was responsive throughout our inspection and passionate in wanting to maintain a high level of care to people. People’s health conditions and associated risks were assessed and managed safely. Staff were recruited safely and received appropriate training. The service was clean and well maintained. Medicines were stored, documented, and administered safely. People’s needs were assessed and reviewed. People were supported by staff who treated them with kindness and respected their dignity. Staff ensured people’s care and support met individual needs and preferences. There was a system in place for responding to concerns or complaints. A dedicated management team led the service. Staff were able to raise concerns and told us managers were approachable and supportive.

People's experience of the service

Updated 8 September 2025

We spoke with 1 person who told us they liked their staff team and felt staff kept them safe. They told us, “The staff are very kind and extremely helpful. They are engaging with a good sense of humour. They see people as people.” They also told us, “I think the standard of care is very high. I had worked in residential care and have stayed in other care homes so I can say this with great authority.” We observed people were given choices. We also observed a person telling staff their preference for mealtimes and this being accommodated.
