All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced off-site inspection on 21 October 2026.

Where we carry out an offsite inspection, we undertake a detailed review of the practice risk assessments, audits, policies, staff records, photographs, and other relevant documents. We gather feedback from patients, staff and stakeholders (where relevant). We carry out a remote visual assessment of the premises and have discussions with staff.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Dental Design Studio Beccles is part of Dental Design Studio, a dental group provider. The practice is in Beccles, Suffolk and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 16 staff. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 1 dental therapist, the practice manager, the operations and compliance director and the clinical director.

28 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the service, both of whom said that they were given adequate information about the service so that they could make decisions about their treatment. One person told us, "I had all of the information given to me." Another person said, "I knew about the costs before it (the treatment) started."

A patient survey completed between February and June 2012 showed that people were happy with their care. This was confirmed by two people that we spoke with. One person told us, 'I am happy with the service, I feel they are very good.' Another person said, 'I was absolutely amazed at the service.'

People's comments and views were listened to and respected. We saw that improvements had been made to the waiting room area following people's suggestions.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and the staff were well trained and supported.

Staff were able to demonstrate that they could identify the signs of abuse. However, we could not be assured that all staff had sufficient knowledge regarding safeguarding people from abuse to enable them to report their concerns to an appropriate authority who was responsible for investigating such issues. The registered manager confirmed that staff would be receiving training in 2013.

The provider had an effective system in place to deal with complaints.
