During an assessment under our new approach

We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 30 September 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.

We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Gareth Roberts - 69 Pont Street on 18 June 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 (Safe care and treatment) and 17 (Good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.

Improvements had been made to how the practice assessed and mitigated the risks associated with fire, intravenous sedation and infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles

There was an effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Gareth Roberts – 69 Pont Street is located in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The practice was not wheelchair accessible, the provider however ensured patients with limited mobility were informed in advance and those who could not make the stairs were signposted appropriately to other local practices. Car parking spaces were available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 4 treatment rooms. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists and 2 dental nurses.

During a routine inspection

Staff reported that before people received treatment they would fully explain what particular treatments involved. We spoke with people using the service who confirmed this. They said that staff always talked through the treatment process, that they explained things "very clearly" and they had been told at each stage what would happen. They described staff as "wonderful" and "very helpful".

When people first attended the service they were asked to complete a medical history form which asked relevant questions about peoples' allergies, any medications they were taking or any medical conditions which they had. People using the service told us that they were asked about their health at appointments. They described the service as "very good" and said that they always had a "very good experience" at the service. Staff had been trained in what to do in a medical emergency and were aware of the different roles of staff if such an event occured.

On the day of the inspection the service was clean and tidy. People we spoke with said that there was always a "very high standard" of cleanliness at the practice and that it was "top-notch".

Staff undertook the relevant training to maintain their professional registrations.

The service had an appropriate complaints system in place.
