Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 3 August 2026

Our on-site assessment took place on 11 and 19 August 2026. The service is a care home providing nursing and personal care to adults, older people, and people living with dementia, mental health issues, sensory impairment and physical disabilities.

This was the first assessment of this service since they registered with us in March 2025.

The provider had a good learning culture where managers investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed people’s risks. The facilities and equipment met people’s needs, were clean and well-maintained and any risks mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. People’s medicines were managed safely.

People were involved in the assessment of their needs. Care was based on latest evidence and good practice. Staff worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving services. They monitored people’s health to support healthy living. Staff involved those important to people to make decisions in people’s best interests where they did not have capacity.

People were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity and were actively supported to maintain independence, choice and control over their lives. Staff responded to people in a timely way. The provider supported staff wellbeing.

People were involved in planning and making decisions about their care. Staff provided information in formats people could understand. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the registered manager took this seriously and acted on it. People received fair and equal care and treatment.

The strong values of the service contributed to positive outcomes for people. Leadership across the service was visible, compassionate and highly effective. Governance systems were effective and used to monitor performance, identify trends and drive improvements. Staff described feeling valued, supported and confident to contribute to service development. The service actively contributed to the wider community and encouraged people to participate in initiatives which benefited others.

People's experience of the service

Updated 3 August 2026

People were overwhelmingly positive about the kind and caring nature of staff. Personal care was completed sensitively, preserving people’s privacy and dignity. People received good quality care from knowledgeable staff who treated them as individuals. One relative told us, “I couldn’t ask for more. If [Person’s name] wanted a certain thing staff did it for them. They went above and beyond.”

People felt the culture of the service was positive and person centred. One person told us, “It is such a family atmosphere, and everyone joins in together. I have made friends here.” Another person told us, “I feel this is a warm and cosy place.”

People enjoyed the varied activities to keep them physically and mentally active which happened daily at the home. One person told us, “Excellent activities. Llamas and karaoke and manager and staff join in. I have made friends and am no longer lonely and on my own.”

People felt safe and were involved in planning their care how they wanted it. One relative told us, “I feel safe because everyone is here to help [Person’s name]. I don’t have to worry about them now.” People’s medicines were managed safely, and they received these when they needed them.

Some people could not directly tell us about their experience of living at the service. We used a structured observation tool to assess whether they received good care. This approach showed people were included and listened to and staff interacted positively with them.

People and their relatives knew staff and leaders well and felt comfortable to raise any complaints with them.
