Our current view of the service

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 25 June 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations. Infection control procedures in place were effective.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.

The practice is in Sale, Greater Manchester and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice.

The practice had 5 treatment rooms. The total number of staff was 33. During the inspection we spoke with 3 dentists, 3 dental nurses, the group practice manager and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection.

People's experience of the service

Prior to our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 67 patients. On the day of our inspection, we saw patient feedback from over 200 patients, who had left online reviews.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Comments included:

“I visited for a filling, from reception team to dental team, they were welcoming, put me at ease, explained clearly what they would be doing and checked throughout the procedure if I was alright. My dentist was very thorough and very caring.”

“Excellent, professional service from both the reception and surgical staff. Extremely helpful in arranging appointments at short notice and providing clear explanations regarding the details of procedures and treatment. Very supportive, proficient and reassuring service.”

“Have been with the practice 3 years now and have received nothing but excellent treatment. If you have a dental problem, they will do their best to get you an early appointment. The practice Manager is always available to you and doesn't hesitate to ring you back if you have a problem. I have just completed having Dental Implants which I am delighted with. [Staff member’s] attention to detail and precision is impeccable, you never feel rushed and made to feel at ease. Altogether, I feel so pleased with the service I receive.”

“The dentist was very nice and friendly as was [their] assistant. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I am happy with the service I received from the reception staff they were also pleasant and efficient.”

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.

Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.

Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.

Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.

Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
