During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 19 January 2026.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Sutton Coldfield and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 8 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 3 qualified dental nurses (one of whom was the practice manager) and 2 trainee dental nurses. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses and the practice manager who was working on reception at the time of our inspection.

During a routine inspection

We gave short notice of our inspection to give the provider limited time to prepare the information that we needed. During this inspection we spoke with two dental nurses and the dentist who was also the registered provider. We looked at the treatment records of five people who used the service and spoke with two people on the day. Following our inspection we conducted telephone interviews with a further six people.

We found that people had the information they needed to help them make choices about their treatment. One person told us, "I did not feel pressured or rushed, everything was explained properly and my options were discussed with me".

People told us that they had no concerns about the care and treatment that they received. One person said, "I had two dental implants and every care was taken to ensure it was done well".

We observed that people received care and treatment in a clean and hygienic environment. People that we spoke with had no concerns about the cleanliness of the environment. One person told us, "The practice is spotless".

People that we spoke with were complimentary about the staff working at the dental practice. We found that staff were trained and supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

The provider had systems in place to monitor the quality of service that people received. People that we spoke with confirmed that the treatment they received was of good quality.
