People's experience of the service

Updated 3 February 2025

People and their families were positive about the quality of care and how the service had improved. People told us they felt safe and were involved in planning their care and treatment. One person said, “I am safe here, very safe, the staff are kind.” Several people described how staff treated them kindly and with respect. One said, “The staff here could not be kinder.” Another person told us, “I take my medicines myself; the staff regularly review my needs to make sure I’m safe.”

The service provided a variety of activities to keep people physically and mentally active. People were very complimentary about the food. One person said, “The food is nice, we have two choices at mealtimes. There is an activities lady, and I get to do things.” People knew staff and the manager well. One person told us, “The manager often talks to me, they ask if everything is alright.” A relative told us, “The manager has been amazing, they keep me fully informed.”

Some people could not directly tell us about their experience. We used a structured observation tool to assess whether they received good care. This approach showed people were included and listened to and staff consistently interacted positively with them. People felt able to complain and confident action would be taken, and improvements would be made.
