During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this assessment from 20 October to 11 November 2025. Our assessment was prompted by concerns around care delivery and the new ownership meant the service was unrated. The Heathers is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 25 people. Some people living at the home are living with dementia.
The provider had systems in place to keep people safe and mentally stimulated. Whilst the home was clean, a gap in staffing at certain times meant cleaning staff were not always able to fulfil their role. The provider was aware that improvements were needed and was actively changing staff rotas, and other areas of care that required development. The provider was in the process of implementing daily audits to have a better management oversight of the service. Staff had essential training and the provider planned further specialist training to enhance their skills to deliver effective care. Activities that people enjoyed were provided by a dedicated activities coordinator who worked with people to ensure a full program each week. Staff knew people well and were patient and kind in the care they provided.
