During a routine inspection

As part of our inspection we spoke over the telephone with two people who were using the service on the day of our inspection. Both people said staff treated them with dignity and respect. People described ambulance staff as 'quite exceptional', 'compassionate' and 'very supportive'.

The two people who spoke with us were satisfied with the quality of service provided by the ambulance crew. One person told us, 'the staff were very nice and caring.' The other person told us, 'the ambulance people were very kind people.'

People were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed.

There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs.

There was an effective complaints system available. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately.

During a routine inspection

Although we did not speak with any of the people who use the service directly, we saw examples of the provider's monthly customer survery. These showed that on average eighty six to eighty eight percent of people were satisfied with the quality of service offered. This included friendliness of ambulance crew members,being treated with dignity and respect, cleanliness of ambulance vehicles and their overall experience.

Records checked by us showed that vehicles received regular checks and were cleaned regularly.
