During our inspection we spoke with five patients, two dental nurses, a hygienist, a receptionist and a dentist. Patients we spoke with told us they were satisfied with the information they received. A patient told us that they had a treatment plan in place which they signed to say they had agreed to it.We observed that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. A patient said; "I am happy with the service, thank you'.
There were arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies and effective infection control systems were maintained to reduce the risk and spread of infection. However, regular checks of these controls were not completed by the infection control lead.
There was enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. A trainee member of staff told us they were supported by other staff that helped them with their studies between patients.
The provider had an effective system to assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive. Patient feedback indicated satisfaction with the service. One comment made by a patient included; "The dentist and team of dental nurses are very efficient in dealing with any problems I may have'.
