During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We found that the provider had implemented a system that ensured that appropriate checks were made on staff. These checks included references, criminal record checks, immunisations and registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). We found that people were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who used the service and they all told us they understood the dental procedures that were carried out during their appointments. We were told that the dentist explained his findings to them in a way that they could understand. One person told us "The waiting times are not too bad and the staff are very helpful but the gravel drive makes the approach difficult". Another person told us they had no suggestions for improvement.

We found concerns in relation to the procedures that were used for the pre-employment checks that were made on new staff.
