During a routine inspection
During the inspection we spoke with four patients regarding their experience of the service and their involvement in treatment planning. We were told that treatment plans were provided which included information about the course of recommended treatment. The people we spoke with were all very complimentary about the service.
People were given plenty of information and choice in regard to the treatment they were offered. We viewed five treatment plans. We found that treatments and options available were well explained and that the costs were made clear. People said that appointments could be made easily and the staff were professional.
Patients who use the service were protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable premises as appropriate measures had been put in place to ensure they were safe.
The staff member we spoke with had a good understanding of infection control procedures. We found that action plans were in place for the decontamination rooms to be refurbished.
People were encouraged to provide informal feedback about the care and treatment they received. The provider was reviewing their procedures with the view to introducing a formal feedback process.
