Parkfield House Nursing home is a care home with nursing for up to 44 older people.

This care home is run by 2 companies.These 2 companies have a dual registration and are jointly responsible for the services at the home.

Ventas UK Opco Limited were registered as 1 of the companies on 15 April 2025. This part of the care home’s registration had not previously been rated.

The last rating for this service managed by the other company was requires improvement (Published 20 March 2025) when we identified breaches of legal regulations relating to person-centred care, dignity and respect, safe care and treatment and good governance. At this assessment, we found the provider had made improvements to the service and was no longer breaching legal regulations.

People were cared for in a safe, clean and well-maintained environment. Risks to people’s safety were assessed and planned for. There were systems to learn when things went wrong and improve the service following incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns. People received their medicines safely and as prescribed.

There were enough staff to care for people and to keep them safe. Staff undertook a range of training. They had the information and support they needed to understand their roles and responsibilities. Staff felt well supported and enjoyed working at the service.

The provider assessed and planned for people’s care needs. Staff monitored people’s wellbeing and took appropriate action when they identified concerns. Staff worked closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure people could access the services they needed.

People consented to their care and were able to make choices. Staff were kind and treated people well. People were supported to remain independent when they were able to, and this was safe for them.

There were effective systems for monitoring and improving the service. These included responding to people’s feedback and sharing information with them. Staff communicated well with each other and with managers. There was a positive and inclusive culture where people received person-centred care.
