The Loughton Surgery

Date of Assessment: 19-21 May 2026. The Loughton Surgery is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 15120 people under a contract held with NHS England. The National General Practice Profiles states that the make-up of the service area is approximately 83.5% White, 7.4% Asian, 2.9% Black and 2.2% Other. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 9th decile (9 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. The provider used feedback from people using the service to make improvements, such as managing the way appointments were monitored and to continually improve access. Results from the National GP Patient Survey were generally in line with expectations.

Survey responses indicated that people felt they were treated with care and concern, were involved and thought the practice had all the information they needed about them during the appointment. They felt they knew what the next steps would be and that their needs were met. Recent feedback from the NHS Friends and Family Test was positive.
