On this occasion we did not involve people who used the service. To ensure that appropriate checks on staff had now been undertaken we asked the provider to send us written evidence to confirm that satisfactory criminal record bureau checks had been completed for all staff he employed.

The provider informed us on 23 August 2012 that following our visit in June 2012 he had now received satisfactory Criminal Bureau checks(CRB) for all of all of the staff he employed. He also told us that he had arrangements in place to ensure all staff who worked at the surgery that were self employed had satisfactory CRB checks in place . We received written information to confirm this information .

People we spoke with told us they were usually referred to this specialist clinic by their dentist or GP. Once they had been assessed by the periodontist and a treatment plan agreed they could make routine appointments easily. They said that they received a reminder text on their mobile. One person told us that this was really useful as they could often forget appointment times.
