During a routine inspection

We spoke with five patients who told us they were satisfied with the service provided. They said they never experienced difficulties obtaining an appointment that suited their needs. One patient said 'The service here is excellent'. Another patient said 'Staff are compassionate and empathetic, so I never feel nervous coming here'.

Before patients received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. Where patients did not have the capacity to consent, the provider acted in accordance with legal requirements.

Patients experienced care, treatment and support that met their individual needs and protected their rights.

Patients were protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider was ensuring that appropriate arrangements were in place to manage medicines.

Patients were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

There was an effective complaints system available. Comments and complaints patients made were responded to appropriately.

During a routine inspection

People told us that they were given clear information about the treatment choices available to them, so that they could come to a decision about which treatment would be best for them. One person told us, "I was given several options, including false teeth. He (the dentist) gave me a plan that I could take home and read and make a decision. I did not feel over worked by dentist!"

The people that we spoke to were very positive about the treatment and quality of service that they received. Comments included, "I didn't feel anything compared to other dentists, although I have not been for long time. I would definitely recommend it".

People said that if they had any concerns that they felt confident to talk to staff or the dentist. Information about how to make a complaint was made available to people who use the service.

The practice had a number of systems in place to make sure that the service assessed and monitored its delivery of care. This included regularly asking people who use the service for their views.
