During an assessment under our new approach

This assessment took place on 26 March 2026. This is the first assessment following registration in February 2024. 13 High Street provides microsuction and gentle warm water irrigation for the removal of ear wax build up to adults and children and weight loss programmes for adults.

The service is provided by a registered nurse who is also the nominated individual. The provider is a sole trader, and the service does not employ any other staff.

The service had a good learning culture and patients could raise concerns. The service had not had any incidents in the past 12 months. Patients were protected and kept safe. Staff assessed patients at the beginning of each session and identified any potential risks. The facilities and equipment met the needs of patients, were clean and well-maintained and any risks mitigated. However, the provider had not sought assurance from the landlord regarding health and safety of the building and equipment.

Patients were involved in assessments of their needs. Staff reviewed assessments taking account of patients’ communication, personal and health needs. Care was based on latest evidence and good practice. Staff had the necessary skills, training and experience to provide effective care to patients. Staff worked with the patient’s GP for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving services. Patients were given information to enable them to give informed consent to their care.

Patients were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. They treated patients as individuals and supported their preferences.

Patients were involved in decisions about their care. The service provided information patients could understand. Patients knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it. The service was easy to access and worked to eliminate discrimination. Patients received fair and equal care and treatment. Patients were involved in planning their care and understood options around choosing to withdraw or not receive care.

The provider was experienced and had a good understanding of the service. The service had a clear model of care. The provider monitored and managed the service effectively. However, governance processes needed to be strengthened around obtaining assurance from the landlord around health and safety.Information about the service was shared online.
