All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 6 November 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Basingstoke and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The dental practice shares some facilities with the neighbouring medical practice. There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 11 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 dental therapist, 1 dental hygienist and 1 receptionist. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal dentist, 1 associate dentist, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, 1 dental hygienist, and the receptionist.

During a routine inspection

We met three people attending appointments who all spoke positively about the service. People told us they were very happy with the care and treatment they had received, and were fully involved in the decisions about their dental care and treatment. They said that the dentist always discussed treatment options and cost with them to help them make an informed decision.

The surgery was clean and tidy. Personal protection equipment such as aprons, gloves and eye protection was used appropriately and infection control policies were followed. People we spoke with said that the surgery was always clean and tidy.

Staff felt supported and said that they enjoyed working in the surgery. They said that communication was excellent and they were all able to contribute to how the service was provided.

There was a complaints procedure and any complaint made was recorded and responded to in a timely manner.

Overall we found that the provider was operating effective systems to ensure patients received appropriate care and treatment in a clean environment.
