During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 10 November 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Dr S Etemadi – DSE Dental Practice is in Northampton and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

A portable ramp was used to gain access to the practice to support patients with mobility needs. Parking was available nearby, including designated spaces for disabled people.

The practice had 1 treatment room. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 3 staff, of which there was 1 dentist, 1 trainee dental nurse and a receptionist. We gathered feedback and spoke to all staff during our inspection.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

This inspection was a follow up inspection to the one that was completed in December 2013 and it was not necessary to talk to people who used the service. During our inspection in December 2013 we identified that the provider did not have adequate arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable medical emergencies and did not have suitable systems in place to ensure people were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment.

During the inspection on 17 April 2014 we found that the provider had made all of the improvements required. We found that there were adequate arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable medical emergencies and people were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who used the service and they told us that they were happy with the services that were offered and the way in which the dentist provided treatment.

We found that people were treated with dignity and respect and the dentist explained their findings to them and made recommendations for further treatment if required. We found that the provider had enough staff to meet people's needs and there was a suitable complaints procedure available. We found that the practice did not have suitable arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable medical emergencies and improvements were required in relation to the cleaning of the practice communal areas.
