Updated 11 May 2026
Date of assessment 27 April 2026 to 1 May 2026. The service is a care home which supports up to 8 people with a learning disability. At the time of the inspection, 7 people were in receipt of a regulated activity. We inspected the service to follow up on a breach identified at the last inspection and to see if the service had made improvements. We assessed the key questions safe and well led.
The service provided support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, Right care, Right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
We found that overall, people were receiving support in line with ‘Right support, Right Care, Right Culture’. People received support from staff who knew them well. People had regular opportunities to access the community such as pub visits, shopping, day trips and swimming. People were offered choices and were encouraged to be independent in some aspects of their care.
During the assessment, we found window restrictors were not being used effectively. This put people at risk of harm. Additionally, we found further maintenance concerns in relation to flooring and in communal toilets. The service’s audits had not identified these. We also found one person’s guidance around their modified diet was unclear. This was a concern found at previous inspections and meant the service had not effectively learnt from these.
Following the feedback, leaders told us they completed a full review of the home environment, including flooring and communal toilet areas and told us they had added additional information in relation to one person’s modified diet guidelines.
The provider was in breach of the legal regulation in relation to governance of the service.
The provider was previously in breach of legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment. Improvements were not found at this assessment, and the provider remained in breach of this regulation.
