We spoke with five people who used the service. They all told us they were very happy with their care and support. Comments included, "The staff are very friendly and caring","the staff are lovely","the food is very good, "I can have a choice" and "the home is small and provides a homely atmosphere".

We saw that staff spent time with people and actively engaged in activities with them. Two people who spoke to us told us they went out for coffee and meals. One person said "I help dry up the dishes and help with my laundry".

People who used the service had a care plan in place which had been discussed with them or their representative. Three people who spoke with us told us that staff had discussed their care with them.

We spoke to four members of staff who demonstrated a clear understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse. We also found that staff had attended training in safeguarding. People who spoke to us told us they felt safe and would feel able to raise any concerns if they had any.

We found that staff received training and development and they were appraised and supervised to monitor their practice.

We found the service kept a range of records but we found some areas of record keeping that needed improvement.
