During a routine inspection

We spoke with one person who was undergoing treatment and one representative on the day of inspection. Both people confirmed that the risks and benefits of treatment had been explained to them and staff always asked for verbal consent.

The people we spoke with told us they were happy with the environment. One person told us 'The clinic always looks clean and well presented'. We found that people were asked for consent and the provider acted in accordance with peoples' wishes.

We found that the equipment used for treatment was clean and well maintained. The provider had a sufficient number of qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet the needs of the people using the service. Both people were complimentary about the staff. One person told us 'The staff are professional, caring and the consultant is brilliant'.

There was an effective complaints system available, in case anyone wished to raise a complaint. Neither person had any negative comments.

During a routine inspection

Three patients told us that they were satisfied with the service provided at this clinic. They told us that staff were courteous and helpful and that they conducted themselves in a professional manner. One of the patients we spoke with said, "This is an excellent service. Ten out of ten. I had a list of questions and have had answers to all of them."

Patients said they had been given sufficient information about their treatment options to make informed decisions. They had been asked to sign consent forms and had been given helpful aftercare advice.

Risk assessments had been undertaken to make sure that patients would receive safe care and treatment and staff had received training that was relevant to their roles and responsibilities.

Policies and procedures were in place to inform staff what they must do to safeguard vulnerable adults and children from abuse. We saw evidence that staff had been trained in safeguarding procedures and two members of staff told us what action they would take if they suspected a patient was at risk of harm.

This clinic had a robust system in place to monitor, review and evaluate the quality of the service provided. The outcome of their most recent quality assurance report was taken from surveys completed by a sample of outpatients using the clinic and the Spire Manchester Hospital. It showed that 96% of outpatients rated the service as excellent or very good.
