During a routine inspection

We visited Stoneydelph Dental Practice at 10.00 am on Wednesday 20 March 2013. This visit was arranged in advance to ensure that we had time to speak with staff working at the practice. Two dentists, four qualified dental nurses, [including the practice manager and the deputy practice manager] three dental nurses; who have recently undertaken their final examination to become qualified and a cleaner worked at this dental practice.

The deputy practice manager and Dr Khan, the dentist who owns this dental practice provided us with the information and evidence we needed throughout this visit. We watched a dental nurse completing the decontamination process and we spoke with her about training, infection control and other working practices in place.

Stoneydelph dental practice provides all treatment necessary under the NHS. People are able to upgrade their NHS treatment to private if they wish. This dental surgery also provided an in-house private dental maintenance plan, which also offered private fee benefits.

Following our visit we spoke with two people who had attended this dental practice for consultations or treatment. Both people were happy with the service provided at this dental practice. We were told that the staff were friendly and helpful and that the dentist was extremely thorough. One person said, "I would definitely recommend this dental practice". Another person said, "The dentist makes you feel at ease".
