During an assessment under our new approach
Date of inspection: 07 September 2026 to 23 September 2026.
Maids Moreton Hall has 2 registered providers, meaning both legal entities are responsible for this service.
Maids Moreton Hall is a care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care, and treatment of disorder, disease and injury. The service supports adults with dementia, sensory and physical disabilities. The service was supporting 69 people at the time of our inspection.
We inspected the service due to concerns relating to people’s care and environmental risks during the hot weather. Whilst people were safe, we did identify some areas for improvement in relation to the environment.
Overall, people received care from staff who were kind and compassionate and worked well with health professionals to support people’s health and wellbeing. Staff understood safeguarding responsibilities, and systems were in place to learn from incidents and monitor people’s care. People’s rooms were personalised and people were enabled to practise their faith, celebrate their culture and use technology to support them to listen to music. People enjoyed a vast range of activities, including exercises, day trips and 1 to 1 sensory time. Staff regularly described staying beyond their shift times to ensure people’s needs were met.
However, improvements were needed to ensure people consistently received safe, effective and person-centred care. Risks associated with choking, moving and handling, falls, the environment, infection prevention and medicines were not always effectively assessed or managed. Care plans and records were not always accurate, consistent or reflective of people’s current needs, and staff were not always deployed effectively to ensure people received timely support. People were not consistently supported to make informed choices or provided with meaningful engagement outside of activities. Systems for responding to concerns and complaints were not always effective, and governance arrangements had not consistently identified or addressed the shortfalls found during the assessment. The provider was responsive to feedback during the assessment and took action to address some concerns; however, further improvement was required to ensure changes were embedded and sustained.
