During a routine inspection

We found that the dental practice was provided on the ground floor of a bungalow, which meant that it included access for people in wheelchairs. The practice had two dental surgeries, and was open from Monday to Fridays, with a late opening available one day per week.

Dental care was provided by two dentists, and we spoke with one dentist who was the named provider; and with a dental nurse and the receptionist.

We talked with three patients who spoke very positively about the dental practice and their care and treatment. People's comments included: 'I have been coming here since 1994 when it opened, and have always been very happy with the treatment and care'; and 'This place is absolutely brilliant. I was not happy with my previous dentist, but this is excellent.'

We saw that the practice was clean and tidy in all areas.

The staff discussed the general running of the practice, and we confirmed that the dentists and dental nurses kept up to date with mandatory training, and with new regulations.

We viewed a variety of records and found these to be appropriately completed and maintained.
