Date of Assessment: 1 to 17 July 2026. This service is a domiciliary care service, registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. The service supports people who live in their own homes across 6 Extra Care Housing Schemes in Sheffield. They provide support to people with a range of different needs including older people and people living with dementia. At the time of the assessment 171 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who uses a domiciliary service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care.

This is the first inspection of the service which was registered with CQC on 12 February 2025. At this assessment we reviewed all 5 key questions and rated the provider as good overall.

People’s care plans and records contained detailed and up to date personalised information about their care needs and preferences. People and their relatives were fully involved in the care planning process.

There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience to meet people’s needs. Staff received appropriate training, and the management team supported staff through regular supervisions and appraisals. Recruitment was completed safely.

The service operated safely. Staff understood how to identify and address safeguarding concerns and the provider worked proactively to learn from accidents and incidents.

Although most feedback from staff was positive, in some areas staff told us staff shortages had led to them covering a lot of shifts and care calls. This had meant some staff felt under pressure and stressed at work. We did not find any impact on people receiving care due to staff pressures but discussed these concerns with the leadership team at the service who advised they were aware of the concerns and had recruited additional staff.

We found some records and plans relating to medicines were not as robust as they should be. Although no harm to people was identified, this did increase the risk of avoidable harm. The issues identified at the assessment were addressed immediately by the provider.

Professionals feedback about the service was positive. Health and social care professionals told us the service was easy to contact, staff were experienced and proactive, and issues were resolved quickly.

Governance and auditing systems were in place to monitor the quality of care for people.
