This was the first assessment of the service, carried out between 15 April and 23 April 2026. Norwood Green Care Home provided care and nursing for up to 92 people, supporting a range of needs including dementia, mental health, older people and younger adults. At the time of the assessment, 86 people were living at the service.
People received care that was generally safe, kind, person‑centred and responsive. Staff knew people well and supported them with compassion, dignity and respect. People felt safe and supported. Inspectors observed positive, calm and reassuring interactions, including when people were distressed or needed emotional support. People were involved in decisions about their care and were supported to maintain choice, independence and control.
Care was mostly delivered in line with best practice, and people experienced positive outcomes. Staff worked effectively with each other and with external professionals to provide coordinated care and support people to maintain their health and wellbeing. Managers acknowledged these findings and took action to strengthen oversight and recording.
Leaders had established governance systems to monitor quality, manage risk and support staff. These systems supported learning and improvement. Leaders were open to feedback, demonstrated a learning culture and introduced actions during and following the inspection to address identified gaps.
