During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We contacted the provider asking them to send us evidence to assure us people using the service were appropriately safeguarded against the risk of abuse and that staff knew procedures for reporting abuse to local statutory agencies. The provider forwarded us the documents we requested. The provider had taken our previous findings of non-compliance with safeguarding people seriously. We were satisfied they had acted in a robust way and had ensured action was taken to make the necessary improvements.

During a routine inspection

People who used the service told us they were happy with the service provided at Stamford House Dental Practice. One person said 'I am very happy with the treatment I have had here'. They told us they were anxious when they visited the dentist and that since they had attended this practice the dentist had reassured them. They said the dentist explained their treatment clearly and was always open to questions about their treatment. They also said that when they needed to have crowns fitted, they were given options of what type of crown they wanted.

People who we spoke with told us they were always accommodated to make routine appointments. One person told us 'They send out reminder cards around three weeks before' they had their appointment. They told us they found this useful as sometimes they could forget when they had their appointment. One person told us they had previously made an emergency appointment which had been accommodated on the same day.
