Updated 3 October 2025
Dates of assessment were from 22 October 2025 to 28 October 2025. This was the first assessment of the service since registering with the Care Quality Commission in January 2025. White Rose House is a care home providing nursing and personal care for up to 62 people, some of whom are living with dementia. At the time of our assessment there were 47 people living at the service.
We found governance systems had not been effective in identifying issues in relation to matters including care documentation, safeguarding, maintaining people’s dignity and staff practice in relation to the mental capacity act. Care records did not always reflect people’s needs and did not demonstrate any involvement of the person or, where appropriate, their family. Staff had not always recognised safeguarding issues and managed this in line with safeguarding protocols. Staff had not always worked in line with the mental capacity act when making best interest decisions. We saw examples of staff not always being mindful of people’s dignity needs.
However, this had been identified and was being addressed by the provider at the time of our assessment.
The provider was responsive to the assessment process and was able to provide us with evidence and assurances that improved systems were being implemented for management oversight of the service.
