Date of assessment: 15 to 22 April 2026.

Link Direct Care Limited (TRURO) provides supported living care to people living with dementia and/or learning disabilities in their own homes throughout Cornwall. At the time of the inspection 5 people were using the supported living service, only 1 person, who was living with dementia was receiving personal care. This was the first assessment of this newly registered service. We have rated the service good.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to ‘Right support, right care, right culture.

The consistent, small staff team knew the person well and had the skills necessary to understand their communication and meet their needs. Staff training was regularly updated.

Staff understood their role to protect the person from abuse and knew how to support them safely. Care plans accurately reflected the person’s needs. Staff supported the person to access the community.

Prior to the assessment the registered manager had not fully understood the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act. Following feedback additional systems were introduced to ensure the person’s rights and freedoms were protected.

Staff were well supported by the registered manager who regularly worked alongside all staff while providing support. Quality assurance systems were effective, and feedback was encouraged and acted upon.

People's experience of the service

Updated 24 April 2026

We visited the person at home to observe staff providing support. The person was relaxed and comfortable with their staff who they approached for support without hesitation. Staff were able to understand the person’s communication style and responded positively to their requests.

The person’s relative was complimentary of the service and the support staff provided. They told us, “One [Carer] has been here every day since they started, so I can’t moan about continuity” and “The staff all seem to be a nice bunch of people. [My relative] seems to get on with them fine”.

Care records showed no visits had been missed and staff normally arrived when expected. The person’s relative told us the service was flexible and they could vary visit times when necessary.
